He photographs sick children and helps their dreams come true by cleverly editing their photographs. The outcome is a magical, “real” photo of the kids doing whatever they could dream up. And it melted my heart into a gigantic puddle.
“The idea behind The Drawing Hope Project is to show children with health conditions that anything is possible.”
Shawn wanted to help these kids bring their imaginations to life.
So, he is taking ideas or drawings created by children and turning them into real images… starring themselves.
“Each child is becoming a special ‘character’ in the storybook, and
alongside the awesome adventure they will all be going on in a very
magical land…”
“…it will also through subtext tell their personal stories, what
they have overcome, and bring awareness to their personal causes as well
as organ donation.”
Shawn accepts drawing submissions from children and uses his talents to create something wonderful for them.
The first 26 photo shoots for the first book have been completed.
Shawn plans on creation multiple books for the project.
Not only will it help the children stay upbeat and filled with hope…
But all of the awareness and donations the books will raise will help other sick kids, too.
Even if you don’t know the children or stories behind these photos, it’s hard not to be filled with hope when you see them.
