Floreen and Ed Hale were an inseparable couple for 60 years. Their love alone could have inspired hundreds of other married couples to make things work. Over the decades, they happily lived their lives together. It turns out, their love was so strong, even death couldn’t keep them apart. Even when both of them were gravely ill, the Hales wanted to be close to one another.

One month ago, Ed was hospitalized due to kidney failure.

Then, his wife was rushed to a separate hospital with congestive heart failure.

Initially, Ed was too weak to be transported so that he could be with his dying wife. But eventually, the two different hospitals worked to reunite this couple.

Then, 82 year-old Floreen died while holding the hand of her beloved, 83 year-old Ed. He passed away only hours later.

Ed was a gentleman for Floreen his entire life… and up to the very end. He let her pass away quietly first, before letting go himself. He was so sweet to his wife that their families called him “Saint Edward.”
Their families gave them a heartwarming joint funeral last Thursday, on the eve of Valentine’s Day, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. Floreen and Ed’s undying love is an inspiration. When you find that special person in life that you love, never let go.
